went with my cousin to see David Garza at the Largo. pretty good mix of country, tex-mex , rock n roll, throw some spanish/portugese songs, some classical guitar stylings, a little bit Phil Spector-ish wall of sound piano, jangly reverb tinged fender jaguar guitar..... and clear up front, yet a bit droning lyrics... all adds up for a good time.
I don't think that made any sense at all.
the opener tom brusseau had one of the sweetest voices a guy can have. singing about dark garages, the van zandts, and covering bessie smith all through a country/folk filter was also enjoyable.
gonna go see the incredible erin mckeown next week if I can get tickets.
i'm trying to get inspired by music again, been kind of bored with it lately.
on other more serious notes, my TA is leaving! no!!!!!!!!!
she has single handedly made my life more bearable by having her around. I'm happy that she got the position she prefers at the child development center, but man, its gonna be tough without her.
i'm hitting my groove. no more late nights of worry. I'm gonna do what I gotta do and not sacrifice my time any more than I have to.
told the fam that i'm moving out. now I gotta ask if they have any old furniture to donate or space to store newly bought items from craigslist.com
all for now.
i know i know, my website isn't at all half or even a quarter as fancy as mr chin's at his hip little conartistry site, but, hey... if you want to hear boring expository writing, and don't want to be confronted by issues..haha...come to me...then read mr . chins.
just come back to read mine once in a while.
