I can't believe its been a llonng time since i've posted last. Sad thing is, I've had quite alot of stuff to write about. But of course, being the procrstinator that I am, I don't do it as often.

REMIND me to write my thoughts about this past year on paper, who knows when this whole thing called the internet will shrivel up and die.
As of my last post, I kind of hate my new classroom. Its moldy, smells, and is giving everyone in the room intense allergies and headaches. Hopefully I'll be changing classrooms soon as to alleviate the miserable hung over feeling that I get often in the morning.
Well, I do have a GIRLFRIEND, can you believe that? Yes, it is the same girl that I have mentioned vaguely a few times in earlier post. Many of you already know this so.. not really big news. but good news nonetheless.
She is really amazing, smart, funny, beautiful, and talented. Its hard not to be in awe of her sometimes. she teaches high school bio. she is from the south, and me being from missouri we make fun of eachother often.
she is really fun to be around.
My sister is in town, and that is awesome, although I wish I had more time to spend with her, instead of working,, but c'est la vie..
My awesome friend Christine came into town on sunday, and we went out for coffee before she left for her cruise.
Its really refreshing to talk to a friend who has many of the exact same aspirations and fears as I do. She is destined for great things, I only hope to accomplish a fraction of what she will accomplish.
This is gonna be a busy week! One of my best friends Jennifer is coming into town on Wednesday, and will be here until Monday.
Friday is also my birthday, with I imagine a busy weekend for me as well. Luckily, I'll take monday off as to give me some breathing room.
Its gonna be an up and down week next week, because alot of my friends are also leaving. Amy leaves wednesday, my sister leaves thursday, jennifer leaves moday, and my girlfriend, Mollie leaves tuesday for 3 weeks! but, you know, I'll be busy, working, getting stuff done, not to mention a trip to San Francisco for spring break with mark and amy!
Concerts? I haven't been to many, but I've seen The Long winters and Nada Surf play. Hopefully I'll get to see the Decemberists soon, and on sunday i'll be seeing good ol KC boys the Get up Kids.. I swear I'll be one of the oldest dudes there. oh well, music is music.
I'm thinking of plunking down the cash to go to Coachella to see many bands, including wilco, the PIXIES!, and death cab for example..
i'm also probably going to see Saul Williams perfomrm in a few months.

I've been reading alot of books lately. From Dave Eggers "a hearbreaking work of staggering genius", Stephen King's "the regulators", "the best non required reading for 2003" edited by Dave Eggers, and Patricia Cornwell's " Anatomy of a murder, jack the ripper: case closed". I have to read different books at different times, keeps it fresh.
I earlier finished a book that Mollie lent me called "GIRL", whose author I cannot recall, about a girl growing up in early 90's Seattle rock scene..
i've bought way too much music, from vinyl of rocky, robin williams, steve martin, back to the future and bob seger, 50's pop, CD's of more wilco, cub country, arrested development, the Shins, death cab, le tigre etc...
I shelled out the big dough and bought a bass guitar and amp.
I'm ready to start playing with my friend Mark, once he gets his beautiful new guitar out of the shop (black 70's Gibson Les Paul, with tasty real wear marks...none of this "instant vintage" wear and tear shit..)
A teacher/musician friend of mine Gary and myself are looking into doing a music festival to raise money for scholarsips for our students...esp focusing on non-native kids who have a terrible time financing college.

I've made it a resolution to explore more of LA, with friends and family. It seems that I've been holed up in this world of my own, without realizing the amazing shit la has to offer. I still don'tknow if this is my town, but while I'm here I'm gonna make the best of it.
speaking of LA, i'm moving to Hollywood! yes, yes, Alex is leaving the quite comforts of suburban Lakewood for the dirty, trashy, exciting streets of Hollywood with my great friend Amy. Its a little nerve wracking, leaving my family who have been so generous to me, but its time for a little excitment and privacy of my own place. I'm also nervous because I have never lived with a woman before, and its gonna be different, I think.. we'll see.
I'm not moving in until August, so I have a while to get prepared.
I also interviewed for an internship that I got last year but turned down for TFA. I find out thursday. I need to find out if I get it and if I can actually/or want to do it. I don't want to be super busy this summer, but I don't want to be horribly bored either. All I know is that I'm almost certain I don't want to teach summer school.
well, its about time for class to start, first period conference is a good thing, esp when you are prepared..even though I could be getting work done right now..
well, hopefully this will be the start of a more frequent dearth (edit: amount) of blogging..
and for all you cia people out there,,,,, bush, utla, regime, kerry, republicrat, war, crap crap crap, sonic jihad bla bla bla
